This weekend, during the Sundance Film Festival, the “Underground” cast of WGN celebrated their upcoming season two. The executive producer of the series, John Legend, was on hand with the cast for this celebration.

“Underground” emerged in this renaissance of black programming on television. This series, which stars Jurnee Smollett-Bell and Aldis Hodge, is based on the Underground Railroad and related events. The content of the series has made it critically-acclaimed after one season.

With the season two premiere right around the corner, “Underground” has much more to celebrate. At TVFest in Atlanta, on February 2, the show will receive the CAST AWARD in celebration of their phenomenal program. Representing the show will be the aforementioned Smollett-Bell, Hodge, Amirah Vann, Aisha Hinds, and series co-creator and executive producer, Misha Green.
