What came as a surprise, to those who were aware, was Wiz Khalifa announcing Lil Uzi Vert signed to Taylor Gang. When he was introduced, Uzi was presented as DJ Drama and Don Cannon’s artist. It was common knowledge that he was Generation Now.
However, stranger things have happened in the record industry. There have been several instances of artists being signed to one label and then, essentially, traded to another label. This was the case with Fabolous, who was traded to Def Jam from Atlantic Records.
But, Lil Uzi Vert remains DJ Drama’s artist, as he and Don Cannon set the record straight. It’s no secret Wiz Khalifa is doing his thing with the new Taylor Gang/Atlantic deal, but Lil Uzi is not a part of it. Both DJ Drama and Don Cannon took to Twitter to denounce his claims.
