When people first began paying attention to hip hop moguls and their earnings, Diddy was the person that got their attention. At the time, he was known as Puff Daddy, however. Soon, Diddy began sharing this space with Master P, Jay Z, and later, 50 Cent and Dr. Dre.
There was a time when Jay Z was topping this list on an annual basis, with his array of business ventures. However, Diddy reclaimed the top spot in 2012, only letting it go in 2014 in the wake of Dr. Dre’s deal with Apple. Since then, Diddy has remained firmly on top of the list.
This morning, an article has begun circulating social media that has revealed Diddy will be named a billionaire by Forbes in 2017. In other words, Diddy will be making history the next time his earnings are calculated. Sean Combs is hip hop’s first billionaire, which is a major milestone for the culture.
