YRS Jerzy’s Wednesday Throwback: Destiny’s Child ft. Lil’ Bow Wow, Da Brat, and Jermaine Dupri – “Jumpin’ Jumpin'”

Long before Beyonce took over the game as a solo artist, she was the front-woman for Destiny’s Child. During the era of girl groups and boy bands, Destiny’s Child quickly rose to the top of a crowded field. As a result, Beyonce was a household name long before “Crazy In Love.”

Good music helped put Destiny’s Child over the top and “Jumpin’ Jumpin'” was among the singles. When the song began hitting its stride, in 2000, Jermaine Dupri linked up with them for a remix. Doing his So So Def thing, he added Lil’ Bow Wow and Da Brat to the record.

Destiny’s Child enjoyed a run in the music industry that will very likely never happen again, unless the group decides to reunite. This single was the last to feature LeToya as a member of the group, which firmed the Beyonce, Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams trio. The “Jumpin’ Jumpin'” remix is also this week’s Wednesday Throwback.
