As soon as the day began, J. Cole made sure the hip hop world would be talking about him. A few years ago, J. Cole was considered to be the future of the game. He, Drake, Wale, Big Sean, and Nicki Minaj were who the game was waiting for.
Kendrick Lamar exploded onto the scene, made himself a part of the conversation, and then eclipsed them all. Just when he took the game over, with a Jay Z feature to boot, Kendrick went on hiatus. When he returned, his buzz wasn’t the same, but he nabbed a Grammy.
With J. Cole making plans to dominate today, with very key help from his folks at TIDAL, the world is trying to figure some things out. Most have decided Cole was calling Kanye West out, but was it Wale or Drake in the second part? Even bigger question, where does Kendrick Lamar now rank after J. Cole put this album out?
