Online, for the past couple of years, Handsome Balla has been making a pretty big impact. Last year, Handsome Balla really took over with his single, “Love Her Anyway,” which has amassed over 200,000 views. On top of that, he just dropped his Balla Alert mixtape.
Because of New York City being the birthplace of hip hop and such icons as Jay Z, The Notorious B.I.G., Nas, and LL Cool J, among others, hip hop heads always look to the Big Apple. The music they’ve put out for the last decade has been amiss. But, Handsome Balla has the keys.
Handsome Balla is a Brooklyn native and he is making much headway in the game. The recent Balla Alert mixtape has been out less than a week and has already gone viral. His music videos often receive the same types of success and the hip hop scene in the city is beginning to rally behind him.
Along with fellow rising artists linking up with Handsome Balla, he is also getting support from the veterans. The self-proclaimed King of Brooklyn, himself, Maino, has also collaborated with Handsome Balla. Given his buzz, there has to be interest from the majors and it is only a matter of time.
Ultimately, label affiliations don’t matter, the music matters, what the fans like matters. Handsome Balla doesn’t have a major label behind him, it doesn’t matter, his music has built a huge audience, so it matters, and his fan base is huge and they like him. Pay attention to Handsome Balla, this is one to pay attention to in 2017.
