No, the majority of people did not vote for Donald Trump as president, but yes, he is going to be the president. While some people act as if this is news, winning the plurality of electoral votes determines the presidency. This system led to Barack Obama winning two terms.
Just as if did following Bill Clinton’s second term, the winner of the majority of votes lost a close electoral race. In close elections, this happens, sometimes. When Obama ran in 2012, many people thought his opponent, Mitt Romney would win the popular vote, he did not.
As hard as it may be for some, everyone will have to get used to the presidency of Donald Trump. But, Wanda Sykes wasn’t ready during her last performance, as she laid into Donald Trump, angering fans. When they began booing her, Wanda Sykes cursed them out, continued her rant, and then walked offstage, flipping the people off as she left.
