Race relations have hit new lows, over the past few years, not seen since the Civil Rights era. After the countless murders of black teens, including Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown, there would be some kind of retaliation. It is now taking place in the form of NFL games.
During the preseason, Colin Kaepernick of the San Francisco 49ers refused to stand during the National Anthem. This refusal caused a big uproar and then Kaepernick explained why he didn’t stand. There has been a refusal to understand why, on the other side.
The game most NFL fans wanted to see was the Super Bowl rematch between the Carolina Panthers and the Denver Broncos. Of course, Cam Newton has received tons of coverage following the loss, but Brandon Marshall kneeling during the National Anthem is becoming the big story. Some NFL fans have called for a boycott of the league on Twitter with the #boycottNFL hashtag.
