Straight Outta Sesame Street: Twitter adds hip hop song titles to popular TV shows with #MakeTVHipHop

#MakeTVHipHopSince the 1990s, hip hop has gone more mainstream, due to the leaders showing their softer sides. Guys like Ice Cube, Diddy, Snoop Dogg, and many others have become household names. Another man joining the ranks is DJ Khaled.

The success of hip hop has manifested itself with “Empire,” the FOX hip hop soap opera, starring Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson. While the show is record-breaking, hip hop is still a minority in the mainstream. But, Twitter is making a funny change to this.

Early this morning, Twitter has emerged with a new trending topic that is great for laughs. The trend is called #MakeTVHipHop, where rappers’ names are added to various popular television shows. All over Twitter, there are such names as “Courage The Cowardly Snoop Dogg,” “2 Broken Chainz,” “Straight Outta Sesame Street,” and more.
