Drake goes platinum with #Views, the first triple platinum rap album of 2016

Finally, it looks as if Drake may have cooled off a little, but he remains the most-popular rapper in the game. Popularity-wise, DJ Khaled may have eclipsed him, this year. But, Drake still has more than enough music out that the fans cannot get enough of.

After finally topping the Billboard Hot 100 with “One Dance,” he did it again with “Controlla.” He even found time to take jabs at his current rivals, Tyga and Tory Lanez, for their remakes. However, Drake has a much bigger prize to focus on.

Partnered with Apple Music, Drake set a record for streams with Views and he is now being awarded. For his efforts, Drake has gone triple platinum with his long-awaited album. The certification was revealed, yesterday, and Drake has the first triple platinum album for the year of 2016, when his closest competition may not even go platinum once.
