Women do not receive the respect they completely deserve in hip hop, seeing how hip hop is male driven. But, for all of the disrespect, there is Trina who changed the game. Sexy and filled with dirty talk, Trina held her own with the men, from the Dirty South.
Trina helped solidify Slip-N-Slide Records as a powerhouse in the music industry. Back when they were pushing Trick Daddy records through random distribution companies, Trina helped change things. Brought in just to commentate on Trick’s “Nann,” Trina helped them secure a deal.
The popularity of “Nann” led to Slip-N-Slide Records signing a distribution deal with Atlantic Records. Soon, Trina was convinced to no longer pursue real estate and rap. It was a bold move that is still paying off and the fans are giving her so much love on Twitter for all that she’s done, well deserved.
