Fans look back on Chingy’s successful DTP run and departure #InsideTheLabelBET

ChingyAlthough it seems like ages ago, Chingy really was one of the top stars in the game. During the summer of 2003, Ludacris signed Chingy and he had immediate success. For whatever reason, Def Jam did not go for Chingy, so they sent him to Capitol Records.

Chingy dropped “Right Thurr” and it became one of the biggest hip hop singles of all-time. Suddenly, Chingy was one of the top rappers in the game. His debut album, Jackpot, debuted on top of the charts and the album went triple platinum.

Tonight, Chingy’s career was recounted on “Inside The Label” on BET. They went through the good and the bad of that situation. The fans on Twitter, meanwhile, just reflected on the time Chingy had when he had the game on lock.
