When season one of “Empire” ended, Lucious’ (Terrence Howard) favorite son, Hakeem (Bryshere “Yazz” Gray) became one of his enemies. Wanting his son to focus, Lucious sent Camilla (Naomi Campbell) out of the country. He never approved of the relationship.
Hakeem, hurting, sought comfort in Lucious’ ex, Anika (Grace Gealey), showing his attraction to older women. What began as revenge turned into love and then obsession for Anika. Kidnapped by goons, Hakeem was set free and sought Anika, again, after whatever happened to him.
The romp Hakeem had with Anika right after his release in front of her house counted for more than comfort. Anika, at the time on the verge of giving into her stress, gave into Hakeem against the wall. After this encounter, Anika soon found out she was pregnant, though it took months for her to finally tell Hakeem.
