YRS Jerzy’s Wednesday Throwback: T.I. – “24’s” #InsideTheLabelBET

Last night, T.I.’s business history was recounted on BET for their new series, “Inside The Label.” Here, the story of T.I. turning down Diddy to form his Atlantic Records partnership. The first offering of this partnership was Trap Muzik.

While Trap Muzik‘s biggest single was “Rubberband Man,” “24’s” was actually the breakout song from the album. This song was T.I.’s first major hit and it owned the late summer of 2003. Of course, “24’s” followed T.I.’s “Neva Scared” feature with BoneCrusher.

In light of T.I. and Grand Hustle Records getting an “Inside The Label” feature, last night, it made sense for the Wednesday Throwback to spotlight him. It all started for T.I. with “24’s” and he never looked back and hit the number one Billboard spot three straight times within five years. So, we take it back to 2003 and old school T.I. this week.
