Early in “Empire’s” run, Andre (Trai Byers) told Rhonda (Kaitlin Doubleday) that Lucious (Terrence Howard) hated him. Even with Lucious obviously loathing Jamal, Andre felt he was the most-hated. As season two has progressed, Andre was proven right.
Lucious has issues with Andre’s mental condition, as his mother, Leah (Kelly Rowland) dealt with mental issues, growing up. In a recent episode, Lucious shared this in a music video, angering Andre. Later, to work Andre, Lucious took him to Leah’s grave.
Last week, fans learned Leah Walker (now Leslie Uggams) is actually alive. After Lucious played Harper (Annie Ilonzeh) over the news exclusive, she gave Andre information on Leah being alive. The preview for next week showed Andre bringing his grandma home, which had fans all over Twitter with something to say.
