Just as DJ Khaled said during the promo of his last album “I changed… a lot.” His career has gone through many changes, since he began dropping albums in 2006. Early in his career, the 2001-2008 era, had him primarily in Fat Joe’s shadows and working with his contacts.
Since 2008, DJ Khaled has forged his own path and gained a major co-sign from Jay Z, in 2009. In fact, DJ Khaled is credited for helping to ease the tension with Jay Z and Fat Joe. The two have come a long way and DJ Khaled is now being managed by Jay Z.
During his recent interview with Hot 97, DJ Khaled discussed all of this and boasted of how his life changed. Now, DJ Khaled is going on what is easily the biggest tour of his career. The major announcement was him being added as Beyonce’s opener on the “Formation” tour.
