Over the years, Maxwell has managed to remain relevant, despite all the changes in music. Longtime critics say this is the worst era of music, yet here is Maxwell sticking his foot right back in. Currently, Maxwell is working on a new album.
Maxwell has put in over two decades in the music industry and has a hit for every era. His most-recent hit is “Pretty Wings,” which came during the 2009-2010 period. Since then, Maxwell retreated from the spotlight, preparing him to come back now.
Recently, Maxwell stopped by Hot 97 and talked to Ebro and Laura Stylez about his history. Revealing himself as a longtime Hot 97 listener, he also discussed making timeless music. When the topic of Jay Z arose, Maxwell said he is the new Frank Sinatra, something Jay, himself, has said.
