Hip hop is competitive, as is any other sport, and it’s built off rivalries, but there are unwritten rules. When it comes to matters of life and death, lines just aren’t crossed. This became especially true after the deaths of Tupac Shakur and The Notorious B.I.G.
Troy Ave recently began going at Joey Bada$$, which is ironic as both rappers preach New York unity. Since 2013, Troy Ave has been all about “restoring the feeling” in New York. But, there are few people who are “feeling” Troy Ave, at the moment.
A few days ago, Troy Ave released “Bada$$,” his new track that is taking aim at Joey Bada$$. There is a line on the track, aimed at Capital Steez, who took his own life in 2012, where Troy Ave says he is “rotting in hell.” For most fans, there is no coming back from that for Troy Ave and they are going in on him on Twitter.
