Rihanna was paid $25 million through album partnership with Samsung for #ANTI

Rihanna 23As of midnight, this morning, Rihanna reclaimed her position as the top woman in pop music. This followed what was close to a four year hiatus from releasing albums. In the meantime, her old music continued to dominate and she left Def Jam for Roc Nation.

Moving to Roc Nation reunited Rihanna with Jay Z in a bigger capacity and she also joined TIDAL. Obviously, the streaming service served to launch #ANTI. However, Rihanna also followed Jay Z’s pattern and partnered with Samsung.

Months before #ANTI was released, there was a rumor of Samsung possibly paying Rihanna $25 million to partner with the album. This ended up being the case, as they paid her that sum. However, it is unclear how many copies of the album they purchased to put on their devices.
