Hands down, Straight Outta Compton was the biggest movie to come out in a long time. Not only did the movie return attention to NWA and their members, it also brought their music back to Billboard. The movie was handled, mostly by Dr. Dre and Ice Cube.
Promotion for Straight Outta Compton began when Apple Music launched, giving the product a major jump. In the movie’s first week out, Straight Outta Compton grossed $56 million. But, with the award season beginning, Straight Outta Compton got snubbed.
Straight Outta Compton was the biggest movie release of 2015. But, it was not up for many Oscars. Because of the apparent snub, fans have been all over Twitter, all day, questioning why Straight Outta Compton isn’t receiving more awards or props.
