It’s been a fast rise for Fetty Wap, who went from being an unknown aspiring rapper to co-signed by Kanye West and Jay Z. What a difference a year makes, Fetty Wap has done a lot. Ironically, his label is owned by the man who signed Jay Z, Lyor Cohen.
Fetty Wap put out two mixtapes with DJ Louie Styles, who happens to be a correspondent here on Hip Hop Vibe. These two mixtapes contained the tracks, “Trap Queen,” and “679.” Both of those songs were the biggest records of 2015.
There was a lot of doubt for Fetty Wap and his longevity. What happens next remains to be seen, but what he has done up to now is pretty impressive. Now, his self-titled debut album has sold 1 million copies and should be certified platinum.
