Donald Trump has alienated some of his celebrity African-American friends in wake of presidential race

In hip hop, when rappers brag about going from nothing to something, they usually name drop Donald Trump. When it comes to business, he made sure everything the Trump name was on was top of the line. Even when he did his cameo on “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” this was true.

Infamously, Nelly shouted out Donald Trump, and Bill Gates, on his debut single, “Country Grammar.” Jay Z is the closest thing to the business side of Donald Trump in hip hop and he has mention him. A lot of this has stopped since Trump became more political.

Once good friends with the likes of Master P and Russell Simmons, these people have become withdrawn from Donald Trump in the wake of his outrageous comments. Previously, Russell Simmons attempted to step in and show Trump how Muslims live, but now this is no longer the case. Many black supporters have fallen back, while others, such as Don King stayed on.
