Currently, Drake is the hottest rapper in the game and a lot of people have remade “Hotline Bling,” his hit single. One remix was surprising, as it was Erykah Badu who jumped on it. But, with her hosting the Soul Train Music Awards, it really wasn’t surprising.
On top of hosting, Erykah Badu is getting ready to jump back into the music, hard. During her time, Erykah Badu released four albums and had several notable tracks. Younger fans credit her for “Love of My Life,” featuring Common.
Recently, Erykah Badu talked to The Fader and she discussed her new mixtape, You Can’t Use My Phone. She explained her “Phone Down” track continues where her Drake “Hotline Bling” cover leaves off. Overall, Erykah Badu said Drake really inspired her to get back into the music.
