Jamal (Jussie Smollett) has done a good job of running “Empire” since his pops, Lucious (Terrence Howard) has been locked up. Not taking away from him, but Lucious is the “heart and soul of Empire,” as everyone always says. In the season two premiere, he proved just that.
In tonight’s episode, Mimi (Marisa Tomei) was brought in to help Andre (Trai Byers), Hakeem (Bryshere “Yazz” Gray), Cookie (Taraji P. Henson), and Anika (Grace Gealey) take Empire from Lucious. Anika even slept with Mimi to make it happen. No such luck, as Lucious won.
Lucious advised Jamal (Jussie Smollett) to find out who she was and when he did, he brought her to his side. Following this, the four plotters walked into the meeting to be blindsided by Jamal and Mimi and got a message from Lucious, “game over bitches,” finishing his phrase from the season finale. This and how smoothly he killed Frank Gathers (Chris Rock) has Lucious trending on Twitter.
