In early 2012, Chief Keef became the biggest breakout artist of the year behind “I Don’t Like.” The song quickly took over Chicago, followed by the internet. Immediately, Young Chop became a household name and one of the hottest producers out, in a sea of new, hot producers.
An older name in producing emerged and remade “I Don’t Like” in the form of Kanye West. What he did to the instrumental made Young Chop mad and he called Kanye out for it. However, fences were apparently mended, when Kanye took him and Chief Keef to Paris for Yeezus.
Young Chop recently did an interview on VICE Music on Apple Music’s Beats 1 Radio. During the interview, the topic of Kanye West and “I Don’t Like,” apparently, came back up. Those who heard the interview said that Young Chop still expressed frustration about what Kanye West did and said him taking them to Paris did not really fix the situation.
