Indeed, Drake does have enemies and rappers he has to pretend he likes, but he also has a lot of allies. Granted, at the time, Drake was likely talking about Tyga and Chris Brown, not Meek Mill. But, Drake has plenty of support in his hometown.
Despite his avid love for Miami, Houston, and Memphis, Drake always represents Toronto. Ironically, him taking a job with the Raptors coincided with them finally becoming a dominant team. Needless to say, the city of Toronto appreciates Drake for all he’s done for the city.
Meek Mill saying what he said about Drake made a lot of people come to his defense, even Rick Ross. If Meek Mill’s own boss decided to speak up for Drake, obviously the man’s hometown would do the same. City councilman, Norm Kelly, took to Twitter and told Meek Mill he is no longer welcome in Toronto.
