Last week, Troy Ave was the man everybody had jokes for. He released his new album, Major Without A Deal, and the album only sold 4,300 copies in his first week. Because of this, many people started clowning Troy Ave, ignoring the fact he was bold enough to do it own his own.

Troy Ave made himself the man to watch in New York City, however. Two years ago, Troy Ave said he was returning his city to prominence and people began paying attention. His own business skill has kept him going strong, also.

This morning, Troy Ave stopped by “The Breakfast Club,” talking to Charlamagne Tha God, Angela Yee, and DJ Envy. First off, Troy Ave addressed the reaction to his album sales, before having choice words for Manolo Rose and Kendrick Lamar. In the interview, Troy Ave discussed what goes on as an independent artist, saying he aspires to be like Roc-A-Fella and Murder Inc.
