At the beginning of this year, Taraji P. Henson emerged as one of television’s biggest stars. Most known for her film work, appearing in urban movies, Taraji P. Henson was cast in “Empire.” The breakout FOX hit, “Empire” features Terrence Howard and is created by Lee Daniels.
Taraji P. Henson, meanwhile, plays the role of Cookie Lyon. This role is quite dominant, as Cookie gave up the money and the sacrifice in order to give the family all that they have. Longtime primetime viewers compare the new series, “Empire,” to “Dallas” and “Dynasty.”
Recently, Taraji P. Henson talked to The Hollywood Reporter about the role of Cookie Lyon. In the interview, Taraji P. Henson said she loves Cookie and that she is happy that the role gives her a challenge. She went on to say everywhere she goes, people refer to her as Cookie, as opposed to Taraji.
