Perhaps the biggest move hip hop ever made is “Empire,” FOX’s hip hop themed soap opera. Led by Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson, the show is one of the highest-rated shows ever. To give the show a more authentic feel, an original soundtrack was recorded.
The stars of “Empire” all make music and they recorded a soundtrack for season one. Released as an album, the soundtrack debuted number one on the Billboard album charts. This led to Billboard inviting them to perform at the 2015 awards.
Taraji P. Henson is another woman whose sexy is being discovered for the first time on a mainstream level and she introduced her on camera sons tonight. Jussie Smollett and Yazz performed a medley of the “Empire” hits at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards alongside Estelle. The performance immediately took Twitter over.
