Mixtapes are what helped the new Los Angeles hip hop scene get noticed by a national audience. Rappers and singers alike, including Tinashe, jumped on the mixtapes hard. In 2013, Tinashe secured a deal with RCA and then she never looked back.
Early in 2014, “2 On” was released featuring ScHoolboy Q. The song became one of the biggest songs of the summer and Tinashe was made into a household name. In the fall, Tinashe released her debut album and she’s spent the time since then touring.
Tinashe recently did an interview with Hot 97’s Ebro and Laura Stylez for their meet and greet at S.O.B.’s in Brooklyn. The interview went on for a long time and Tinashe talked about some of everything. She touched on Kanye West, her music, and why she does not date rappers.
