The hip hop scene in Houston was in the midst of a major explosion, ten years ago. By this time, in 2005, Mike Jones emerged as the biggest name on the Houston scene. During the summer, Mike Jones released the platinum Who Is Mike Jones?, his debut album.
Mike Jones failed to reach the same level of mainstream success in his following attempts. However, Mike Jones remained a force on the mixtape level. Most recently, Mike Jones released his mixtape, Money Train.
This morning, Mike Jones was met with bad news, however. The Houston rapper was arrested on 34 counts of human trafficking. News of this first broke on “The Tom Joyner Morning Show” and is indeed a major blow to the projects Mike Jones is working on.
