Common feels racism can end if black people reach out to white people

Common 2Race relations have always been tense, but racism has become more blatant since the murder of Trayvon Martin. Both Michael Brown and Eric Garner have been brutally murdered since then. In the wake of this, the film, Selma, premiered.

Common has a big role in the soundtrack of this film, performing the track, “Glory (Selma),” with John Legend. The song is based on the movie, so racism obviously is the main topic on the record. This track has united the masses and earned Common an Oscar.

Recently, Common appeared on “The Daily Show With Jon Stewart” and the topic of racism came up. Optimistic, Common believes racism can end with a little effort and he is right. But, Common ventures to say he believes black people should be the ones to extend a loving hand to white people to make this happen.
