The biggest show of the 2014-2015 television season is “Empire,” a hip hop themed soap opera. “Empire” has FOX receiving record ratings and the show is the most-successful new series in history. Headlined by movie stars, Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson, “Empire” owns TV.
Grace Gealey plays the role of Anika, the girlfriend of Terrence Howard’s character, Lucious. Her role makes her a rival of Taraji P. Henson’s character, Cookie. A backslide between Lucious and Cookie left Anika angry and hurt, leading to her betraying Empire Entertainment.
Currently, the “Empire” cast is making their media rounds and Grace Gealey stopped by Power 106, talking to J Cruz. She talked about the character of Anika and the success “Empire” has had over its first ten episodes. The season finale, episode eleven airs tonight and next season will feature appearances from Common and Oprah.
