Hands down, Fat Joe is a rap legend, but he seems to frequently be overlooked in favor of others. But, one thing to notice about Fat Joe is how he opened doors for those around him. Again overlooked, Fat Joe gave life to the resurgence in Miami’s hip hop scene.
Without Fat Joe, the likes of DJ Khaled, Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, Ja Rule, and Remy Ma, among others would have different career outcomes. Even former rivals like 50 Cent benefited from going back and forth with Fat Joe and they know it. Plus, he’s a hard guy to stay mad at.
Fat Joe made peace with all of his rivals, but he and Remy Ma left things on a sour note back in 2008, once Papoose got involved in their dispute. But, Remy Ma looked at things differently coming out of prison. The two have met since she’s been free, but Remy Ma and Fat Joe took their first photo tonight, which Joe put on his Instagram, officially marking the peace between them.
