Bun B and Anthony Pinn talk hip hop and religion course with Hot 97 [VIDEO]

Bun B Hot 97Hip hop is much more than music, it’s a culture and it has successfully immersed itself into the overall culture. But, it has taken a while for hip hop to fully get its props. A major step in the right direction was Bun B being hired as a professor at Rice Universy, teaching hip hop and religion.

Bun B emerged when the hip hop scene featured artists primarily from either New York City or Los Angeles. At a time when Los Angeles had just received acceptance, it was hard on rappers from other areas. But, alongside Pimp C as UGK, Bun B helped turn heads.

Recently, Bun B and Anthony Pinn paid a visit to Hot 97. They sat down with Ebro, Peter Rosenberg, and Laura Stylez. Anthony Pinn is a fellow professor and he is working with Bun B at Rice University, so together they discussed their new program in their interview.
