Those who grew up during the late 1980s and early 1990s were used to the era when it was just the East and West Coast. But, the late 1990s saw the emergence of the South and all these new sounds. In the mist of this, a spitter named True Sun Ali emerged from Brooklyn.

A true spitter, True Sun Ali has made a big name for himself over the past couple of years. Recently, True Sun Ali returned with his album, Therapy (The Lost Album), which is a dope body of work. The album is one of those that doesn’t need to be fast-forwarded.

“Therapy,” the title track off the album, is an infectious track that lives up to its title. The overall sound of the album is really smooth and has solid production. Every emcee on the project came to deliver, as True Sun Ali led the way to therapy for all.

With this album, True Sun Ali blended the sounds of years past, implementing sounds from Jay-Z, Memphis Bleek, and Flipmode all into one project. This album is definitely worth this listen for those who are into this type of sound.

Hip Hop Vibe’s Rating: 8/10
