In the wake of the booty craze, hip hop has taken a turn towards the thick women. Definitely no problem with that, but this is a trend that has only begun in recent years. One of the original hotties of hip hop was Holly Robinson-Peete.

Holly Robinson-Peete had a run that many may have overlooked, from 1987-2006. During this period, she had main roles in such shows as “21 Jump Street,” “Hangin’ With Mr. Cooper,” “For Your Love,” “Like Family,” and “Love, Inc.” During this run, she also did a Babyface video.

During her run on television, Holly Robinson-Peete brought a youthful energy, even as she got older. This is the same energy she hopes to bring to the new AARP ad campaign, The New 50, a content platform profiling well-known and successful African-Americans that have found unparalleled success in their second act of life. The campaign will premiere on TV One during the NAACP Image Awards on February 6.
