Last year, Big K.R.I.T. ended things on a high note, with the release of his album, Cadillactica. The Mississippi emcee overcame a lot of odds with the release of this new album. With this album, Big K.R.I.T. continued his run as “your favorite rapper’s favorite rapper.”

Big K.R.I.T. is one of the few artists from the Deep South to be as successful as he is. While his audience is mostly underground, Big K.R.I.T. is entering his fifth year on the Def Jam roster. Two albums in five years is not bad in this industry climate.

Hot 97 kicked their New Year off today and Big K.R.I.T. was the first artist to talk to Ebro, Peter Rosenberg, and Laura Stylez in 2015. During this interview, Big K.R.I.T. talked about Cadillactica and his history in the game. He went on to discuss his history in the game, dating back ten years, and he also addressed Mississippi and the Deep South culture.
