From 2000 through 2005, Nelly was one of the most-popular rappers in the game. Unlike most rappers, he had a unique way of singing his rhymes that caught on with the public, as he was spitting/singing some hard lyrics. But, he also had the certain type of “good boy” appeal that made the girls like him.
Music-wise, Nelly has struggled big time since 2005, but he has done well for himself on the business side of things. In 2005, Nelly purchased a stake in the hometown Charlotte Hornets, furthering his business interests. His latest venture is “Nellyville,” his BET reality show named after his breakthrough sophomore album.
Nelly follows the trend of T.I. and Game with rappers having family shows. He is soon to be followed by Ja Rule in the family reality show department. Early in the first season of “Nellyville,” fans seem to really be into the show, as he has received nothing but love from the commenters on Twitter.
