A deal that went unnoticed, at the time, was DJ Khaled signing Mavado to We The Best back in 2011. The year of 2011 was big for We The Best Music Group, as DJ Khaled had success with “I’m On One” and Ace Hood had a breakout year. Since, Ace Hood has had another breakout year in 2013, now Mavado’s time is coming.
An all-time hip hop legend and icon in LL Cool J reached out to Mavado and featured him on his new single, “The Hustler,” which is receiving national attention. When the single first came out, Hip Hop Vibe had a brief moment to talk to LL Cool J and he spoke on working with Mavado. That’s definitely a move in the right direction.
Mavado has the spotlight all to himself on his new project, Hands of Gully, which is coming out soon. There’s no release date set, but DJ Khaled gave one of his trademark phrases about the mixtape, “get ready.” With that being said, Mavado has plans of blessing the streets very soon.
