Brooklyn is filled with legends and the 1990s birthed a great deal of them. The 1990s era brought about The Notorious B.I.G., Jay-Z, Lil’ Kim, and many others. Tragedy struck all three of them, mostly The Notorious B.I.G. through his death, and then Lil’ Kim, with her hardships.
However, success means dealing with tragedy and emerging triumphant. In the case of Lil’ Kim, she overcame a lot to still be a force in the game. Of course, her legendary status helped her out a lot, but both prison and leaving Atlantic Records didn’t stop her from being one of the biggest buzzing artists with just a mixtape out.
