Bringing new light to the West Coast was TDE, along with Odd Future and a few other powerhouses. Their run helped open the door for tons of artists, starting with Tyler, The Creator and Kendrick Lamar. While Kendrick Lamar is preparing another run, presently the spotlight belongs to ScHoolboy Q.
Early this year, ScHoolboy Q released Oxymoron, his solo debut which he wanted to release in 2013. The delay was for the best, however, as ScHoolboy Q had the space to come out and be one of the year’s top artists. Currently, ScHoolboy Q is on the Canadian leg of his tour, which brought him to Montreal.
ScHoolboy Q sat down with Montreality and they caught up with the Los Angeles rap superstar. There, ScHoolboy Q discussed what it was like when he received his first paycheck from making music and he also spoke on his first song. He then discussed some of his favorite TV shows, including “The Simpsons.”
