Curren$y 12For the longest, the New Orleans hip hop scene was embedded by the sound from crosstown rivals, No Limit Records and Cash Money Records. Both them and their affiliates shaped what the world perceived to be the New Orleans sound. But, there is no way to define any sound of any area.

Curren$y brought this to light, even though he initially was signed to Young Money. After leaving the label in 2007, Curren$y branched out with Jet Life Recordings and he has crafted his own sound. He even signed a New Orleans legend in the form of Fiend, formerly of No Limit Records.

Few artists put out projects as consistently as Curren$y and this is what has made him such a fan favorite. The latest project coming up from Curren$y is his Organized Crime mixtape. which he intends to soon have out. He released the artwork for the mixtape last night on his Instagram.
