Lil Wayne talks Jay-Z and “Tha Carter V” with MTV News [VIDEO]

Lil Wayne MTVA deep love/hate relationship exists between Jay-Z and Lil Wayne, with the second of the two always making the most noise. This is the case when a person is aiming to be great, they do what they can to be in the presence of greatness. When Jay-Z came back from retirement, Lil Wayne took offense.

From 2006 through 2008, Lil Wayne continued to target Jay-Z and it went on until he was featured on American Gangster. There was peace between the two from 2008 until 2009, when Birdman began boasting about having more money than Jay-Z. It didn’t stop until Jay-Z’s infamous “baby money” line on “H.A.M.” with Kanye West.

Since then, Lil Wayne went at Jay-Z on Tha Carter IV, although Jay wasn’t offended, and now it seems peaceful again. Lil Wayne is now concluding his career with Tha Carter V and his other album. Nadeska Alexis of MTV News asked Lil Wayne about Jay-Z and he praised him, but said he would not be on the new album.
