A veteran on the Philadelphia hip hop scene is Gillie Da Kid and his history goes way back in the game. Outside of his own music, Gillie Da Kid has written for some of the biggest artists to touch the mic. But, Gillie Da Kid has spent recent years focusing more on his own music.
Last year, Gillie Da Kid released King of Philly 2 hosted by DJ Drama. The mixtape was regarded as a street classic and it was dope enough for Gillie Da Kid to decide to do a part three. He has spent the first half of 2014 focusing his energy on putting out a third edition to the series.
Gillie Da Kid recently visited HipHopSince1987.com and he talked to them about his upcoming project. The interview also touched on his growth as an artist and his longevity in the game. With King of Philly 3 in the works, he spoke on his studio session with Will Smith, and much more.
