Rocko talks “Poet” mixtape and Maya Angelou’s legacy with AllHipHop.com [VIDEO]

While Rocko didn’t put Real Spill out right away, he did get Poet out in a timely fashion. The new project is short and sweet and includes a feature from Nas on it, which has garnered good reactions from the fans. With the project coinciding with the death of Maya Angelou, many people wondered if this was intentional.

Rocko is a legend, especially here in Atlanta, and people know that a lot of what he does is actually intentional. Very creative with his words, Rocko spells his song titles like he pronounces them and he does pay homage. This is why Poet ended up being released six months after it was first teased.

AllHipHop.com recently had the opportunity to sit down with Rocko and he explained his new mixtape. Rocko discussed the Poet project and revealed he did release it to honor Maya Angelou. He also spoke on his singles, “Hustle” and “Good,” with Lil Wayne, along with his new album.
