The late May, early June period in hip hop is when Hot 97 reigns supreme and their reach goes far beyond New York City. Regardless, Hot 97 is hip hop’s leading radio station, but when Summer Jam rolls around, they tend to make headlines. This year was the same, but Hot 97 also does the Brooklyn Unity Fest.
Last week, DJ Mel-o.D. talked to Hip Hop Vibe about the Brooklyn Unity Fest and he explained why he always works with Hot 97 on it. This year, Laura Stylez was on hand for the Brooklyn Unity Fest. A relatively new face on Hot 97, Laura Stylez played a big role in VH1’s “This Is Hot 97.”
