Mannie Fresh confirms working on “Tha Carter V” with Lil Wayne

Many of Lil Wayne’s earlier hits came over Mannie Fresh beats. Back in 2004, it seemed like Lil Wayne was poised to take over the game after he proclaimed himself the best rapper alive since Jay-Z retired. “Go DJ” was definitely a step in the right direction and Tha Carter is a Southern classic.

Lil Wayne saw more for himself and chose to take a hiatus from the game after his 2005 album, Tha Carter II. Before creating Tha Carter II, Mannie Fresh left the label and it wasn’t the best of terms with Cash Money Records. But, a lot of growing and changing has taken place.

Talking from an older standpoint, Lil Wayne ended his beef with Mannie Fresh and the whole label ended the beef, also. Mannie Fresh is back in the mix and working with his former music family. A photo recently hit of them in the studio together in Atlanta, working on Tha Carter V.
