When Jay-Z initially left Def Jam to partner with Live Nation, there were a lot of questions about what would happen. Originally, it looked like Jay-Z would take all of the artists he signed with him to this new situation. Ultimately, this did not happen, but Jay-Z did end up managing quite a few talents through the company.
Since Roc Nation’s birth, Rihanna has been a central figure, as she was managed by the company. Every year, Rihanna releases a new album with the exception of both 2008 and 2013, but she has plans of making up for it. There could be a reason for the delay, as Rihanna may be changing labels.
Jay-Z moved Roc Nation from Columbia Records to Universal Records last year, thus making a Rihanna transition easier. She is done with Def Jam and now she has joined the Roc Nation roster as a signed artist to the record label. Now, Rihanna should have some new music in the works.
