What New York once lacked, they now have, and that is a new generation of rising talent that the torch can be passed to. This revival began three years ago, even though rappers from other regions had negative things to say. With all of that in the past, Troy Ave continues his rise to contention in New York City.
Troy Ave has modeled his career after 50 Cent and this is something the G-Unit general acknowledged when he did his Hot 97 interview. While he has been on this journey, Troy Ave has also crossed paths with Jay-Z and Nas. All of this makes him one of the leading up and comers.
MTV News recently caught up with Troy Ave and he spoke on some of his recent success. Working hard and staying focused has led Troy Ave to becoming the next big star in the game. Troy Ave talked about 50 Cent mentioning him, Nas praising him, and Jay-Z texting him.
